    1/24 JU87-G Stuka

    Hello Gents,

This is another model that I finished late last year. This is the Revell 1:24 scale JU87-G Stuka which was developed late war for tank busting in Russia. This is quite a large model and I spent considerable time detailing the cockpit with wiring and extra details such as the harness kit and the all the hoses to the main cannon assemblies. Hope you enjoy.

Nice work. One bit of advice for future reference, if you clear glosscoat the model before applying the decals, they will snuggle down better without trapping air under them. Use a bit of Micro Sol/Set when laying them on. This will prevent the silvering seen through the clear portions of the decal film. You can then spray a coat of Testors Dullcoat or your favorite flat, clear finish over the model.

Great looking model. I also like big scale 1:24.
For about 30 years ago I did this Heller Stuka in 1:24

Michael has made a good suggestion about minimising silvering decals. Another very effective method, using a brand new modelling/scalpel blade and tweezers, is to cut away the clear film prior to applying the setting solution. I can guarantee a painted-on look every time.

Andy, you've done an enviable job.

                      Marcus,
As already mentioned, wonderful details to the cockpit areas. I also completely agree with the advice given concerning the decal application.

Andy, your efforts have aged nicely. A well executed presentation.
