    The Covid Collection, Part I...

In trying to see the silver lining in things today, I have been able to assemble several model kits that had been languishing in my closet for nearly a decade in some cases: A 1/48 scale P-51C with the "Malcolm" canopy, a 1/72 Fairy Swordfish flying off of Ark Royal in the pursuit of the Bismarck in 1941, and finally the 1944 incarnation of the USS Pennsylvania in 1/700 scale, survivor of Pearl Harbor and both the Abel and Baker atomic bomb tests in 1946.

I am running short of models, at long last - all I have is Richard Ira Bong's P-38 and a 1/32 F-15 Strike Eagle.

    Enjoy!

A few shots of the Pennsylvania with her sister ship, the US Arizona, an old Hobby Boss kit that I bought at Pearl. The Dragon Pennsylvania kit came with a lot of spares for the 1941 version of the ship, so Arizona may be going into the dockyard for an upgrade. I suppose that Arizona would have looked very similar to Pennsylvania in 1944/45 had she survived Pearl Harbor.

After having seen some of the amazing work displayed on this site over the years, I have no illusions that I am nothing but a rank amateur!
