Name of WAF collector, membership level and known as on the WAF: Gary Mohrlang, Association Member and was also known on this forum as GLM. He had been a member of the WAF since 13 September 2004. He passed away 17 February 2008.

Gary Mohrlang... Enjoyed collecting USMC items.

Via another collector I met Gary and visited his home
in Colorado. We shared a mutual interest in old flags,
and I was pleased to view some of his USMC collection.
If I've learned anything about militaria collecting, it is
that it is not just about objects, but an opportunity to
meet fine people like Gary, and enjoy continued contact
online via the WAF. We live on in cyberspace. Semper Fi Gary.

I never met Gary but I looked forward to his posts. He had a phenominal collection, and the experience to match... AND he was willing to show his items and share his knowledge.

A rare combination that is sorely lacking in this day and age.

Great friend and collector! USMC Vietnam vet, son of WWII vet (North Africa, Italy and D-Day in Normandy - Red Big One Division), and one the best in USMC and US militaria.

Gary and I had just begun a great collecting friendship when he was call home too soon. He traded me some wonderful German/Japanese items he had picked up over the years, mostly from vets, and I had looked eagerly to doing much more. News of his death came to me via his son shortly after, and it was a great shock.
