    Memoriam forum - READ THIS THREAD BEFORE ADDING ANY POSTS TO A THREAD

    Hello all - The WAF has created this forum as a way to remember those collectors from this forum who have passed away and made a positive difference to the collecting community.

    What we have come up with is when a fellow member passes away who was in good standing with the collecting community and this forum. A thread will be started with members leaving a comment and the thread will remain active for as long as needed. As the thread is updated, a MOD of this forum will update the first post of the ongoing thread to arrange the thread so that it is cleaned and organized as needed. We also put together a format to best assist the the membership in hopes to make it easier in formatting the thread for others to read.

    Sample Format:

    Name of WAF collector and membership level: John Doe 24Sep43 - 02Mar09

    Known background of collector: Retired from the military in 1975

    Collecting interests: Iron crosses, tunics and helmets

    Articles, books published or other achievements:

    Comments from WAF forum members (sampling from thread):
    John - Was a great person and collector. WAF member Kevin Wallis

    John - Was a true friend and a person who took the time assist any member who needed. WAF member Steve King


    Lastly, this forum is for you all, so if you have any comments or suggestions to improve this forum please let me or another MOD know via PM. We want to make sure forum members get there say, however please be respectful of those who have passed away, thanks.

    Initial guidelines

    What I want the forum membership to do is contact me with a PM with the member name and user name on this forum they would like to add to this forum. What I will then do is create the thread so that I will be able to edit/create the first post as needed with the above format. Doing this will provide a overall snap shot of the member and then the members can read the posts below the first post and add a comment.

    I say this again, please contact me (Ralph Pickard) first so I can create the new thread/post. I don't want to delete any members initial post/thread. Thanks for your assistance on this.
