Decals: Waterslide vs Dry Transfer

Do any of the waterslides come up to the best dry transfers in image quality? (The Germans did use some waterslide decals).

I think they are just as good as each other. Water slide is ideal for show pieces and dry is probably better for re-enactment, as they are more hard wearing.

Depends on what application you want to use them for.
