    On this date 31 May 1916 British and German fleets engaged in the great Battle of Jutland or Skagerrak, the only large fleet encounter of the war.

    Militärpass to Jutland / "Skagerrakschlacht" veteran Obersteurmannsmaaten (Chief Engineering Officer) Konrad Salb who served on SMS Thüringen, which was heavily engaged during the battle, including the sinking of HMS Black Prince and heavy damage to HMS Turbulent.

    Salb received the EKII and Bavarian Military Merit Cross with Swords and Crown.

      Hi,
      I was in Chester Cathedral yesterday they had a memorial to the fallen in the battle including a young VC winner from the battle.
