What to see on the road to Carentan from Paris?

    Hello Gentlemen,

We are planning our next trip to Normany for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day next June. This will be my 5th trip over there, so I am very familiar with the landing beach areas.

What I am wondering is what is there to see between Paris and our destination of Carentan. We are probably going to start by taking the A12 out of Paris and will stop to see the Vimoutiers Tiger.

Is there anything to see in Falaise, Argentan, or St. Lo? We've been to Viller's-Bocage already.

    Thanks

    John

Don't forget the Montormel memorial, directly at the exit of the Falaise Pocket :

Small but highly interesting, and the collection is only local finds. Furthermore, the guides are collectors and know their topic ! I highly recommand this one.

      Hello
You should visit Rommel's former headquarter at the castle of La Roche Guyon. Beautiful place and very interesting visit.
Once in Paris, hope you planned to visit the Musée de l'Armée.
Not exactly on the road between Carentan and Paris, but what about the Vimoutiers Tiger ?
Once in Paris, you cqn rent a car and drive to Meaux. Ww1 museum. Very nice as well.
      Best regards

            Thanks Guys,

Yes, the Vimoutiers Tiger is one stop we will definitely make.

Saumur is a bit too far, but I have been there twice before so that is ok. Once we are in Normandy we have a week, and for the first time, no set schedule, so maybe I will finally make it to Barkmann's Corner this time Patrick.

Very underrated museum, owners will give you tons of anecdotes.

Here are a couple of photos taken few months ago.
