My wife and I did a trip from Budapest to Amsterdam via a river cruise a few weeks back, and one of the places we cruised past was Remagen on the Rhine,
and I was chuffed to be able to view the old bridge remains of the Ludendorff Bridge as we sailed past.
The movie "Bridge At Remagen" made in 1969 was one of my favourite war movies when I was a lot younger, so I was very happy to finally get to see the old ruins.
