Shouldn't surprise anybody except the muppets who think we popped out of thin air 6000 years ago..

Actually the research sort of fits with nazi racial ideas.

European man has zero African DNA. Does that mean that Neanderthal was dark skinned also? Total rubbish.

The Genome Of “Cheddar Man” Is About To Be Published

I'm really looking forward to the publication of the genome results. Supposed to air on the beebs February 18th Channel 4.

I do hope that they release the actual breakdown online so I can examine the sequence. I know that the initial sequencing in 1998 showed the "Cheddar Man" as having a haplogroup of U5, but that was disputed.

A fair number of "European" Mesolithic finds/remains had dark skin as well.

              https://www.gnxp.com/WordPress/2018/...-be-published/

And the haplogroup "U" seems to be the pivotal one. Mine is U2e1 very close to the find in Germany carbon dated to 9210 ± 29 BC :

              Germany Blätterhöhle, Hagen [BLA 3] 9210 ± 29 BC U2e 16129C, 16189C, 16362C, 16391A Bollongino 2013

And identical to some of the finds in Sweden:

              Sweden Motala [2] M 5898-5531 BC 805,855 I2c PF3827+, L597+, P38+, U179+ , L41+, M253-, L37- U2e1 C16527T Lazaridis 2013; Haak 2015; Mathieson 2015

Using the genealogists "where is my Native American DNA, why does it not show up?" controversy as an example as to why certain markers don't carry forward, it's all about Random Genetic Recombination, see here:

Three Reasons Why Native American DNA Does NOT Show Up On Your Test Results ...

Amazing times we live in, frightening too!

Ancient Egyptians more closely related to Europeans than modern Egyptians.

North Africa was Caucasians and sub Saharan Africa was Negroid up to several hundred years ago. Asian Indians are dark skinned for the most part but Caucasians . You are confusing political geographical boundaries with race along with skin tone. I don't see all the fuss..

Research confirms that Homo sapiens evolved around 195,000 years ago in east Africa, earliest remains from Ethiopia, so we are all descended from there anyway...much to the annoyance of racial purity nutters no doubt.

East Africa, and specifically Ethiopia did not exist then - so to say that we cam from 'Africa' is a specious argument as back then they were just part of a huge land mass. However, regardless of where we came from - it is where we are now, which is a lot further along the evolutionary scale than some.

Why did east Africa and Ethiopia not exist? And what is this huge landmass you are refering to at the time first humans were evolving?
