I came across this helmet the other day and can't make heads or tails of it. It's not a child's helmet as it's too big and the vents aren't in proper configuration and I don't think it's a Parade helmet as the liner is one I've never seen before. What makes it more interesting is that it appears to have much larger exaggerated decals under the paint which can be seen in the pictures. Any thoughts from the experts here? Someone said it could be a British made training helmet and I remember reading within the past year or two of the department for playing Germans in training films but can't seem to find it.

Hello,
it is a movie prop, these were used in the movies from the 40's through 60's (and possibly earlier, i.e. WW1 films). Viewing the films and stills from movies like Sahara, This Land Is Mine, etc clearly shows these in use. I have a couple in my collection, they are light weight and really well made,
Regards,
Don
