    Warsaw 1944

Rob by far the best book on the battle/slaughter is by Alexandra Richie:

Warsaw 1944: Hitler, Himmler, and the Warsaw Uprising

    New sources utilized ( Polish)

An outstanding and deeply disturbing read. The depravity unleashed by the Germans / Ukranians/Russians beggars belief

I completed Master's Degree(Military History) capstone on the Warsaw Uprising. There are several really good books on this topic. I read about 100 scholarly journals and 85 books (Including Dr. Richie's) and my favorite is: "The Eagle Unbowed: Poland and the Poles in the Second World War," by Halik Kochanski. This book used some previously unreferenced primary source material to paint some interesting perspectives, especially as they pertain to Great Britain and the Soviet Union's roles (or lack of) and reasons behind them.
