Who gave poison to Göring ?

Hi folks,

I was talking with a friend today and he said to me that he had seen in the newspaper that an American Soldier who was a guard at Nuremberg finally confess that he was the guy who brought the poison that Hermann Göring used to kill himself.

I tried to find somehting but I failed. Anybody heard anything about it?

You will have to do a search in Die K or members only forum, somebody did post it recently almost the who interview with the guy, it did make for interesting reading.

Here a link to one of the bigger German news papers ( ok, not the very best source ). They wrote about the US soldier today. His name is Herbert Lee Stivers (78)

I still think "Tex" Wheelis had something to do with it.

He was "charmed" by the former Reichsmarshall.

Just do a search on Stivers. It's all over the web. I think he's a publicity hound. No one will ever know for sure.

One of the three or four letters Goering left behind clearly states how many capsules he had, and where he kept them, and how he retreived them.
