    Vogelsang Exhibition 2016

Excellent article on the new museum at Vogelsang!

    http://www.dw.com/en/former-nazi-college-reopens-as-museum/a-19531884

Find it interesting, the commentary on what the future holds for the site of Hitler's Berghof . . . wonder when those changes will come about?

QUOTE: On Obersalzberg mountain, curators plan to incorporate the remaining foundations of Hitler's Berghof villa in their soon-to-be-expanded exhibition. The trees that have grown over it are being left untouched, obscuring the famous Alpine panorama Hitler had from his 15-meter window. The aim is to convey the transience of his rule. "We're deliberately trying to break the fascination the place exudes," said Drecoll.

    Great article - thanks!

Ground breaking for the new Obersalzberg museum is supposed to be next year. The museum will be across from the current Dokumentation Obersalzberg, dug into the hillside. Axel Drecoll told me a few months ago that, contrary to what has been reported in some articles, there are no plans to incorporate the SS tunnel complex into the new museum.

As for the Berghof site, I guess we will have to wait and see. Some rumors say that the retaining wall ruins will be fenced off, and possibly also the tunnel emergency exit (people keep trying to get in there . Other rumors say it will just be more interpretation markers, including path signs to lead visitors from the museum to the Berghof site (which have been lacking all these years).

S-Bahn to Bus to Taxi and Back - WHHEEEWWW!

      You're welcome, GW!

I'd kind of like to go back, and see the changes at Vogelsang . . . didn't realize how difficult it was to get there, by public transport . . . and back in '14, ran short of time . . . and had to turn around and leave, not long after we arrived. Seems like there is much to see and do in the Eiffel as well . . . maybe someday, a return will be in order - of much longer duration?

Will some day have to make another trip to OBS - sounds like it may be worth it, just to see the changes . . .

PS - I wonder who [in their right mind], would ever have wanted to get into that dark and wet old tunnel . . . and it's awfully cold in there - must be crazy, I'd say!
