Good day,
My son has been a member of a WW2 Living History Association for the past six years and they represent various units of the Wehrmacht. This year, a couple of their wives/girlfriends have become interested in portraying DRK nurses. They're hoping to purchase reproductions of the striped dresses with white aprons. All of the photographic evidence that we've come across indicates that the stripes on the dresses were vertical, but some of the on line distributors feature reproduction dresses that have horizontal stripes on the upper front section of the dress. Did this pattern actually exist, or is this something that modern manufacturers do to possibly save money or materials?
Any information that you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Bern
