    Sad to watch. They needed the metal, I know. What was the point of saving it, the war was over??! Seeing the nose art, with all those bombing missions under a bomber's belt, just great but depressing, knowing it's gone forever, except in images...

    Hi,

    some stories are even worse : i remember that at least one B-24 that was forced to land in Switzerland during WWII was repaired at the end of the war by the US Air Force but then... scraped instead of being transfered to the UK or the US...
