I heard near the station that is a bit of a bad area full of Turks.
is there quite alot of parts like this?

I've been all over Munich, on many visits, and I never ran across any part of the city where I felt insecure over my safety. (Not like in the U-Bahn in Berlin, some parts of which can be scary). The area around the main station has a "seedy" side - strip clubs and cathouses and such - but I've never felt in the least unsafe there. You do have to take the normal precautions of visiting any large city, such as being wary of pickpockets. Having said that, I don't visit Munich during the Oktoberfest (when the place is full of idiotic drunks), and except for one evening, I have not been in town after dark. I have heard that downtown Munich at night these days is overrun with groups of young men from the middle east.

Unless it was nighttime, or the weather was bad, and you were running out of gas - then it was a sweaty nightmare, like a monkey f*ing a skunk.

              Hi Martin,

Your trip should be close now.
Go for the Third Reich Tour, visit Dachau KZ (this will take several hours) but the weather will be quite poor at this time of year.
I went in August, and the temperatures were very hot; at this time of year it will mostly be quite cold.
Hope you enjoy your trip, please let us know of your impression on your return!

              Best wishes,

              John.

Thanks guys will check him out.

yeah not long now just need to plan my days and routes.

Its a bit off putting with these attacks that's been going on and Germany taking 1 million this year, open borders are not good as we don't know who they are or what they have done in there past

The Reichsparteitagsgelände in Nürnberg (160 km from München) is a must.

Well, if you were planning to visit Eva Braun's little house in the Bogenhausen district, you can cross that off your list. Some real estate developer tore it down a couple days ago.
