"However, Bcarver is probably more correct than you know. Here in the Deep South of the USA, agitators constantly stir up anti-Confederate sentiment within certain elements of the population. One popular target, of course, is any display of the Confederate flags. More recently, city governments and universities have removed monuments to General Robert E. Lee and other Confederate heroes."
Most of the people doing damage to battlefields are collectors, scrap merchants and war tourists... WW1 battlefields being the best example.... military related thefts done by the collectors, and material thefts done by guys for resale (I am talking bronze and brass parts sold to scrap merchants)
The "Arbeit macht Frei" sign was not stolen by the left, it was a perverted collector who wanted it...
Takling all that into account.... who is more likely to have stolen Wittmans gravestone? A Musli eating Crocs wearer or a collector?
I have been around collecting long enough to realise the collecting pool is not "clean".... there is a lot of scum that floats in it.....
