I just seE the news on a french collector forum. August von Kageneck is dead on Monday ( 13 december ). He was 82 years old. He was Von Papen's nephwew and his father was a general who served the Kaiser.
He worn the black panzer uniform as leutnan ( 9 panzer.division ) when he was only 17 years old.
Two of his brothers were killed during the war :Clemens, and Erbo (RK- luftwaffe). After the war, August von Kageneck published books about his experience as soldier of the whermacht. On year 1956, he lived in Paris, where he was official correspondent of the german radio and newspaper "Die Welt".
He precognized the peace and fraternity between french an german people.
Funeral ceremony is programmed on wednesday 17 december in the town of Fribourg
