    a day in infamy

I've noticed the last couple of years that December 7 pearl harbor hardly gets any mention in the news / tv press etc. anymore.this year there was no mention of it at all in the news or paper here where i live .i guess infamy means about 73 odd years . IMO a slap in the face to our WWII vets.must be the political correct world we live in.

A day late but it was mentioned in a 10 second report that 4 of the 8 survivors of the ARIZONA attended a ceremony at pearl harbor.

        day of infamy

It may well depend on where you live to a fair extent. In the Pensacola, FL area we have a USN air station and fields as well as USAF bases and fields and US Army nearby. The local news gives good coverage of the Pearl Harbor veterans each year with a special tour to Hawaii done two years ago. Memorial Day and Veterans' Day are also very significant locally and not overlooked at all. The local newspaper has a weekly section on military issues and POW/MIA and identification of remains/repatriation and history. For us this is just normal and current military here are well thanked for their service as well.

Sadly I read this will be the last year for the Offical Peal Harbor Vets Reunion. Just about all have passed & those still alive can't travel due to health concerns.
          ...very sad indeed.
