          We all know the Russians raped their way to Berlin. Is there any evidence to suggest the Germans had a policy of rape or that the rapes numbered in the millions?

            I might know of some books addressing the general question and My big hint: look into the Anti partisan campaign ... but I point out that:
            What evidence is there to your first assertion? I am not attacking-but wonder about hard evidence versus general assumptions. Do you have any University Press books to cite?

            Is there any evidence that Russians had a "policy" or is there hard evidence of actual numbers?

            My questions are only thought provoking questions about evidence for all sides.

            Now, I had a girlfriend who was a upper level Psych/Woman's study major and from what I learned from her I bet you that in that field some practitioners wrote up research of this...including Germans and the American soldiers as far as rape is concerned. And for that matter every war known. Civilians always get the worst casualties and suffer the most wherever there is war.

              The German policy was a bit more subtle: Let the Russians starve to death.

              There is hard evidence that this was official policy.
              And compare another hard evidence Number of killed civilians in Russia speaks for itself.

              A number which I found very self-speaking: In all allied bomb raids on German cities approx. 500000 civilians were killed. In Leningrad, about 800000 died of starvation.
              Approx. 3 Mio. Russian POWs...starved to death, died of epidemics...
              And so on....

              That's what is recognised more and more in Germany. Good to clean the own house before pointing with fingers to others. Yes, russian rapes are recognised. But the general opinion in Germany goes more and more to "Not to excuse, but understandable"...because what "Germans" had done to the russian people.
