    WW1 U.S. Haircut

Today at school I was chosen by a local veteran to represent a WW1 Doughboy along with 3 other of my friends, all representing other major engagements. We are supposed to hold a flag while verterans are honored in a public display at our local WW1 memorial. Anyways, we have been told to get as authentic as possible, and all I really need to do is get a nice proper Army haircut from the First World War. I was wondering if anyone had some instruction I could give to my barber and any pictures. The following links are to what my hair looks like right now.

steelmountian, your well-considered approach towards your role as a WW1 soldier is commendable. Dress like a gentleman in uniform and it will be alright.

            Regards,
            Stefan

                Steel Mountain:

Ok, weather lost in translation or not, but rationalizing I really can't agree then with the undue prudent military tact of my language. I guess I need to understand i'm not talking to a another trooper or need to work on my humor, so it depends on how you deal with it as a kid, or as a young adult no offense intended.

Otherwise, your support is respected. There are many vets here or you can take it from the armchairs. However , trust me, in my armed conflict experience in each of the last 4 decades or while I jumped in a combat zone under fire I didn't give a you know what if my hair if any was styled or not (last thing on ones mind) unless you are on parade, hair will be nasty and bearded.

We are good and would be glad to provide further real personal experience. I sincerely hope you enjoy your event in honor of the vets and likewise I will be supporting the brotherhood. Would be delighted to see and hear feedback, drive on!!!

Here's my grandfather in WWI, if this is of any use.

Good luck with your ceremony, and thanks for honoring the vets!
