Bitter sweet yet glad to see the MIA's receive proper honor's and recognition they deserve for their sacrifices and the families. Excellent support from the Italian people.

This pilot was very unlucky: he was shot down just few days before the end of the war in Italy. The germans were rertreating and the casualties were not so heavy as in the previous months.
I would like to remark that the digs were done according to the Law, with all the required authorizations. The authorities were advised and the Carabinieri (military police) assisted to the works. Fortunately no bombs or rockets were found, since they had all already dropped against german vehicles. Many cal.50 ammo were found, (some explosive too) and were taken by the Carbinieri.
