    Interesting story about RAF veterans that took part in the dropping of supplies during the 1944 Warsaw uprising was on the BBC website today.

    Very interesting, I never knew until now that the uprisings were supported by RAF supply drops, all those casualties and 360 allied airmen dead while the Red Army just sat on their ass's watching it all unfold, Stalin wanted the uprising to fail....

      Americans were dropping supplies too. And indeed, Stalin wanted it to fall. I remember on one meeting with Polish wwII ace that flew in RAF, he said that there were plans to send few squadrons of P51 fighters to Russian controlled territory to provide air support for Uprising. Stalin refused.
