The IG Farben Bau in Frankfurt

Now a branch of Goethe University, the IG Farben concern was involved in many chemical and industrial projects during the Third Reich, including synthetic petroleum production and most infamously, the production of Zyklon-B for the extermination camps. The relatively undamaged building was taken over byt he US Army after the war and served as the headquarters for the Supreme Allied Command under Dwight Eisenhower and the Office of the High Commisioner for Germany. Later it was headquarters of the US V Corps and the CIA in Germany. Renamed the Creighton Abrams Building in 1975, it was returned to the German government in 1995. Given to the University of Frankfurt, today it houses the Arts and Sciences disciplines of Goethe University.

The lawn was sprinkled with hundreds of resin statuettes of Goethe. Not sure what old Johann Wolfgang would have thought of that...

The plaque is a memorial to the slave laborers who perished at Auschwitz III.

Nice pics of the " belly of the beast " this site is deff connected whit alot of sad history, luckely they have preserved the Building whit the memorialstone placed in the Building in rememberence in the meny innocent victims this place created is actually pretty nice to see.

but i do see its not compleetly original especially whit the minefield of small WG dworfs in winch do not complie whit drunkness in that area and if i was the lawnmower man ill get really really pisst whit these kinds of obsticals ...... well ill guess well have to cope whit another german ugly memorial
