    Reenactment: Summer Feldpost

After buying a lot of original gear this spring I decided to restore some of it and set up an original german camp/feldpost.

I startet off by removing some blu paint from a promising german chest. I also started removing paint from a lantern.

Before pictures of some of the gear:

The lantern had some flaws, but it was an original BAT lamp. I had another one and moved some items to complete that one. The result was a very nice functional feuerhand lantern.

The chest turned green after 20 min covered with paint remover. The text read Packkiste Nr.10. What was this used for? My guess is assorted gear such as tent-equipment

I got hold of 5 original splintertarn zeltplans and since I had 3 from before I managed to build a complete 8-zelt tent. (8 persons). I had a lot of steel plugs and poles, but had to improvise with som long sticks to get it complete.

A water bottle and a MP40 is good to have lying around in a strange foreign forest

Several of the zeltplans had pictures of goats on them. Maybe a gebirgsjäger troop used them?

The lantern produces quite a bit of heat. The hood on the burner disperses the flames and makes it bigger to generate more light. The cage around it keeps the glas away from burnable object. Such as the tent

An original heer summer jacket works best in the late summer evenings

The green packkiste nr.10 was a good prop to have outside the tent.

                The water bottle has a FL-number and a BA-stamp.

The summer sun came through the trees and across the top of the tent.

Im planning on taking more pictures of the camp. Maybe I´ll make some coffee or food. Please give me some suggestions

I could drive up the kübel and the MG-lafett to make a bigger setting?

The 5th Gebirgs. Division had the mountain goat like this as the divisional emblem.

                          Nice display.

But, thinking about it I don't think this division served in Norway if you got the zeltbhans locally.

                            Cheers,
                            Chris.

That's certainly not a 5 Geb.Div. sign. and you can clearly see the 55 on the sign as well.

We have 2 candidates, both of which served in Norway\Finland. Gebirgs Panzerjäger abteilung 55 of the 2 Geb.Div. and Gebirgs Träger Btl.55. I have seen one unit sign for the latter, though it features a mountain and no goat.
