    Bad Tolz

    Has anyone recently visited Bad Tolz. I would like to know if it is worth visiting, as in is there anything they have not knocked down!

    I spent some time there and mountains when assigned to the 1-10th SF Group. Regardless the surrounding area is spectacular.

    The main enterance tower arch is gone from what I heard though.

      Redeveloped.Shopping,housing blocks,parking.If I remember right,
      One tower was gone with the other scheduled.Not the "Tolz" we all knew.

        The former Junkerschule has been 68ered.

        Now an ugly looking place in use by ugly people.

          I was there last year on my way to Austria and made two small videos, sorry they're in French but it will give you a good overall impression of the place.

                  Visit to Bad Tolz, June/2014

                  I got to Bad Tolz saw the 2 modified towers & what is left of the barracks. Did not like the new buildings in the central area with the oriental restruant, but the bar in one of the barracks was enjoyable. Its turned into a small buisness & low cost housing area with some goverment establishments mixed in.

                    very true, the village is exceptional, the barracks facility is commercialized.
