    Interviewing a Vet of WW2.

Hi all it is the first time i have clicked onto this part of the forum and may i say how interesting it is. Last year i had the privilidge of interviewing a vet of the second world war. The person involved served from the very begining of 1939 through to its eventual conclusion, and may i say what a heart breaking and at times extremely funney story (not the right word) it was. Belguim, Dunkirk, Middle East, Normandy, Arnhem he was there, and may i say i felt proud to be talking to him. My story filled only 20 odd pages ( i could have wrote 500 hundred if i been given more time) I felt guillty at the amount of pages but he was happy, as he wanted his family to keep it as a reminder. All i can say was that the whole experience was quite moving and something i will never forget. Thanks for reading.

Hi, TWP he was in the Infantry. Sorry i wont be able to tell his story, his is a great guy and quite reserved. Here's a small extract from his story that im sure he wont mind. Best regards.
      Dunkirk.
By luck i found myself in one of the rowing boats heading out to a nearby destroyer. We pulled up alongside the dropped netting; the roll of the ship and the drop of the waves made it an almoast impossible task to get hold. A sailor on deck screamed at us to get a move on. I was all but spent, and for a moment I thought I was n't going to make it.
