Congrats, it is a thrill. I recall how cramped it was getting through the fuselage.
Coincidentally I saw one (B-17 ) fly over the New York Thruway yesterday while traveling to upstate NY. They must have more then a few left since yours is in Texas.

Kudos to you. Been there done that. In Temple, Tx in 2000 ish. The CAF "Texas Raiders" B-17G model. My experience was $350.00...WELL WORTH IT. Called my wife & kids...told em to step out of the house & look for me...i'm flying over. (the pilot asked the riders if anybody lived within a few miles of the airport & if we would like to fly over our houses!) A few months after that the Texas Raiders was grounded by the FAA for a main wing spar attachment point corrosion inspection...she failed. Texas Raiders spend around 10 years grounded for repairs. A year or two later I got to tour a heinkel 111 that was touring with another B-17. The B-17 developed engine troubles & got laid up in midland (I think). Anyways the HE111 flew on to temple for static display. The HE looked brand new. I remember being told she had just got a paint job. It was a few years later I heard she crashed, killed the pilot & co-pilot...plane was total loss. I was very sad to hear that.

Great photos, I live right next to the old WW2 airstrip at Warboys, UK, previous home of the RAF Pathfinders. Each year the last remaining Avro Lancaster from the Battle of Britain Flight flys low over us several times at roof top level in tribute. It brings tears to your eyes - my late father was a Navigator on Lancs.

I am happy you got the opportunity to do that Joe. I did the same thing with my son about 10 years ago. Next up is the flight in the P-51 and the P-40, him in one and me in the other.

Now we just need to sail on an Auxiliary Cruiser Joe.
