Danish world war 2 museum on fire tonight

People were rescuing the inventory while the firefighters fought the fire. I hope they got everyting out safely.

Many objects typical of the period help to tell the story of the Occupation: authentic photos, weapons, ID cards, uniforms and much more.

National Museum's Head of Conservation confirms that so far nothing has been lost in the fire at the Resistance Museum. Museum objects and archival records are packed in 600 boxes, of which 2/3 are already driven to the National Museum's Conservation Department in Brede.

In the incoming boxes Only few items including certain textiles and documents that are so damaged by water and soot that they must under expert treatment from the museum's curators. Both textile and papirkonservatorer is set to work, and could save the mentioned objects so that they can once again be part of the museum's exhibits and archives.

Glad to hear it. I had not visited that museum yet but it was on my 'to do' list.
