While I take a rest from kicking myself for not having bought an SSRoom MP40 I'll ask if anybody else knows of a different source for these? Now that I need one for my impression I can't find one for the life of me...

Von Luck,
Sekela was supposed to pick up the run of SSroom ones, and even improve them. We have some unit members who have been on the "waiting list" for them, but I don't think they have any done at this time.
Another option in the future may be this company. They just are in the process of finishing a run of BFONG Thompsons (and at $1999 too). There was talk that they intend to do a BFONG MP-40 in the near future. Here's their site & info they have posted. Try to contect them if you want to pursue further. Best wishes...

Also Von Luck,
Here's the post I had read. I guess it was a different company...
"Dear Gentlemen,
Soon there will be a new replica gun available from Keystone Arsenal Replicas....A Blank Firing Thompson. No Joke.
First gun submitted to the ATF was shot down/ripped apart!
Second gun was well received, but mods needed to be made.
Third gun is just about finished, with both barrel, and ammo options for the ATF to choose.
We're getting close. Close enough for me to get excited over this, and close enough to make an announcement on the premier WWII Re-enacting forum on the net......We have been chasing a blank firing Thompson for years, and now it seems we will have one to sell....This will be the first of several designs. Next up will be the MP-40....stay tuned....This gun should be a reality within 9 months...
Greg Peterson,

Their site is vague on this though. You can try conacting them though.. As an owner of a MP-40 BFONG, I know what tough time it is to get ahold of one. Best of luck, and cya at Camp Carson in August prolly hehe.
Here's their armorers e-mail..

It's not pure greed, it is a simple matter of supply and demand ende. An MP40 tube gun now goes easily for $6500 to $8000. A C&R goes for 10K plus and that's not counting the $200 tax stamp, turn around time for back ground check etc. Plus, not all states are NFA friendly. So if you have to have an MP40 $3500 isn't bad considering the other two legal alternatives.
I got in on the ground floor when Chuck (SSRoom) was in the opening stages of making the bfongs years ago. It took a lawyer, money and a lot of paper work to get the design approved by the BATF. NJ Sekela shouldn't be passing on that expense as it has already been covered and the approval letter for the design stands good. Obviously we must keep in mind that material costs have went up since then, labour rates have went up since then etc.
Man, I am glad I bought my bfong with 6 mags included for $2500 and upgraded to a Wilson tube gun with all original mags for $5500 when I did

Here is a youtube on the BFONG (blank firing non gun).

And since Ubersalz brought it up, yes the UK is truly the politically correct capital of Europe these days. A right cock up! Here is a good example:

Mind the gap....
