the original brick buildings are under so called "Denkmalschutz".
So I doubt it is allowed by law the bulldozer will run them over.
I asked the German civilian who works for the Army there since over 30 years or longer and no one has a clue what will happen there with the whole barracks. And that he can go into pension is to early to get the full pension.
Very sad as so many things lately about money saving ...

Seems i could not edit my first post,But looking at those photos, looks like there is a pole from a camouflage net,and a piece of camo net.if this building is the first
one next to the Greek restaurant. Then it was my old barracks Alpha battery.
1st BN 75th Field Artillery.i left 30 years ago.i thought it was given back to the Germans in the 90s.and was made in to a retirement home.these buildings where built in the 1800s,i was once downtown Bamberg and noticed a German Military unit photo in a store window, and noticed they where standing in front of my barracks, the year on the picture was 1890. my barracks is in the bottom right hand corner of this 1929 aerial photo.

Hi !
Very interesting thread. I like the barracks.
All I know for sure about the "orbs" : They are just dust in the wind.
The result from retro-reflection of light off solid particles.
Shake your blankets in your room in front of a light and take a picture with a digital camera and you will see "orbs"... Really.
Cheers.
