Airborne exhibition, Netherlands

For those who will be in the Market Garden (Einhoven, Nijmegen or Arnhem) area around this time and interested, I will be holding an Airborne exhibition during the commemorations. It will be held in a building called 't Zwaantje (former 505th HQ) which is between Groesbeek and Mook, South of Nijmegen, and is therefore located in the 82nd area. Main emphasis will be on the US airborne activities in this area but there will also be FJ, SS and British airborne mannequins and items on display. Also fairly large quantities of material recovered from the battlefield and ID'd veteran items.
It will be opened on Wednesday the 15th because of a large group of British MG veterans. "Official" opening will be on Friday 17th and will stop on Sunday 19th.

I think it is great that you are willing to share your extensive collection with the public and the veterans and I want to wish you luck with the up-coming display. I wish that I were able to travel to the Netheralds to see it, but I cannot. Many of us here in the states would love to see your work.
Would you mind posting some photos of the display when you have time?

Hi Allan,

thank you for your kind words.
I'll promise that I'l take loads of pictures. It should be very interesting as the veterans who originally owned the items will be present two. For example, there will be two uniforms (M42's) that were used by members of I.Co-504th during the Waalcrossing. On got severely wounded, but survived, and he will be back for the first time.

On another note, do you know if the Triggertime Forum is down? I have been trying to reply but have been unable to put in my reply for several days now.

It's a pity this exhibition doesn't last long. If there's a chance I'll pay it a visit (it'll have to fit into a tight schedule, I'm afraid ). What are the opening hours?

opening hours will be from 10 AM till 5 PM.
However, if there are many people I'll guess it will stay open later than 5 PM.

I was able to access the site but was unable to respond to one of Mark's posting (concerning Rudy Brumley, a casualty of the night attack on Schijndel).
I am registered with EZboard but no luck so far.
When I try to post a reply it says:

Hello Ben,

I was able to visit your exhibition just for a short time. I was really in a hurry to get to just one more exhibition (Driel) afterwards.

Parts of the helmet collection I already knew through this forum, but seeing these 'live' is just beyond phantasy. To see these personalized items is stunning. The mannequins on display also had lots of character and personal touch (a liberated bottle of liquor on one of them ....)

What struck me most was the impressive display of the burial crosses and the dogtags.
