    Great find indeed. There was a thread about it some time ago. I heard that souvenir hunters started to remove pieces from that plane.

      That's a shame, especially seeing as how it is like a well preserved crime scene. Some of those artifacts people are walking off with may hold the answers as to what happened to the poor pilot. I wonder how far he would have had to walk to make it to safety? Obviously, he did not make it. Someone needs to secure that crash site, or go ahead and haul it off to the RAF museum before it is completely plundered.

        Artifacts people? That's being a lil generous, there's youtube footage of the muppets smashing the P40 up ....
