It appears they are actually Volkssturm soldiers wearing LW uniforms, but with VS collar tabs.

Exactly! Volkssturm men who were issued LW uniforms and have added their Volkssturm mirrored rank tabs on black backings.

My guess would be Volksturm given the collar tabs.

Thanks for all your nice comments on the thread and nice to see so meny intrested in History where people normaly just go maybee every day on the way to work or just passing trough never thinking of the ammount of history the place might have. Well History means nothing more than the individual wishes and whit all the nice comments i can only say its all my plesure.

And yes your absolut right on the volksturm/luftwaffe pic, sorry in the late hours i didnt see it anyway my fault. After Hitler ordered "operation Clausewitz" in the morning the 20 april on his birthday wich was basicly evacuation or removing/destroying the wehrmacht and SS offices in Berlin, after that the logistic was a messy thing and ill belive that most of the remaning uniform was leftovers or combined parts, i also tells in that moment the very desperation of the remaning 3 reich.

Well for all intrested in this kind of threads ill set a new thread up the comming weekend so stay tuned guys for this one i have been studdy for over 3 years whit frequendly visit to the place documenting, and fotografing the area for the last 2 years so stay here if you are currius.

note that the speerleuchte is moved together for making room to the stage, the very same lightpole on my pics , over 50.000 soldiers from SS, wehrmacht , luftwaffe and navy was present during this parade.
