Camp Hearne Texas weekend. German POW camp.

    Camp Hearne Texas weekend. German POW camp.

    I went to a public event at Camp Hearn Texas. It was a POW camp of some 5000 POWs mostly captured in Africa. A DAK veteran was there and he spent 3 years in Camp Hearne. His name is Heino Erichsen. Here is a picture of him with my DAK group and a portrait of him as a young soldier . Really cool meeting him and hearing his stories. He has a book out "The Reluctant Warrior".
