I was just viewing that, fantastic images! It must be difficult to find these exact location from so many years ago. It just goes to show you how Europe has remained unchanged after all of these years. These are my favorite kinds of historical photos, it let you relive the memories of that time all over again.

    Very well done,
    Mike

There's a guy in Russia who does the same thing with ostfront pic's.....really haunting stuff. Kind of like how i felt at Gettysburg and Pearl Harbor....seeing through the minds eye so to speak. Thanks for posting this....best, rich

Can you post a link to the Ostfront ones? I don't think I've seen them.

        Cheers

          Time machine

There's almost an other worldly science fiction feel to some of these photos. Like being stuck in some kind of time warp where some things stand still while the world continues to rotate.
Eerie ethereal good photo images just in time for Halloween.

Yes..this style of imagery is extremely haunting and thought provoking. I like it a lot. It has many possibilities both from a historical and educational point of view. These guys should get some kind of award in my opinion.....to be able to coordinate the "then" and "now" shots and then merge them using modern technology to create that kind of seemless effect is nothing lest than brilliant in my book.

I stand in awe and wish i posessed something close to their talents.......

                  best, rich

Thank you for putting the Daily Mail link up, I never tire of seeing the 'Then & Now' comparison images and the examples used really are excellent and very thought provoking.

                    Regards Richard.
Always looking for Luftwaffe Kampfflieger related document groups. In particular anything to Kampfgeschwader 2.
