Info about american POW camp?

Hello !

My grandfather served at the heereskuestenartillerieregiment 1262 on the
western front. He was captured at the battle of cherbourg and brought over
england to US.

He was a POW at camp hammond louisiana (?) in the southern states. He worked as a cotton picker. In late 1946 he returned to germany.

Are there any infos about this camp or are there POW lists and something other?
