    Visit to Obersalzberg & Berchtesgaden.

Hello all - just a few photos of my recent visit to the usual sites. I have tried to list a few we dont see to often here on the forum (I think).

The Berghof "tradesmans entrance" so to speak:

Actual driveway with remnants of the bordering stone-wall:

Boremans tree has again sprouted shoots this year:

There is still a lot of the camo netting lying around:

    Rear retaining wall of Bergof:

At the Boreman site I found part of the entrance for the bunker tunnel area - you have to dig around a little to find this:

Close-up of internal area of the Boreman tunnel:

The "Hitler rock" at end of lake Konigsee:

The foundations of the old SS gate house - right side of this picture:

Below building appears to have been a guard house at the begining of the walk up to the Eagles Nest (Kehlsteinhause):

The below is behind the Berghof site - access shaft for what I dont know:

Internal can be seen clearly tiled:

Teehaus site - this is a nice walk and a must for any visit:

Actual site of the Teehause - not much to see now:

    A few steps etc remain..............

      Thanks

Nice photography of your trip. There's another thread out recently of someone posting for information on where to stay in that area for his trip. Nice finding Boormans tunnel, I'm sure it must be cleaned of any relics. Though I would still be tempted to get on all fours to crawl around inside. Thanks for the slide show.

I've been there twice in March - hope to get back during the summer so I can visit the Kehlstein Haus. Thanks for the pics!

What remains of the theatre building pillar supports - you have to dig around a little to find this.

Paula Hitlers grave. On talking to the locals she is still in the grave as there was a major outcry when the body was to be moved. The story is that the Reifs bought the grave plot and it will remain undisturbed for another 50 years - Hermann Reif was an SS mann - this is the story got from two locals - so true or not, its what I was told. Interesting is that the nameplate is already vandalised - shame:

Great pics! I was there for another visit just after you (October), and I'm going again this weekend.

I was told exactly the same thing as you, about Paula Hitler's grave. Hermann Reif maintained the grave, and when his wife died she was buried there but with a small marker that did not obscure Paula's name. But when Hermann died, the children had the name plate applied over top of Paula'a name, although she is still buried there as well. That's what I was told.

That little tunnel near Bormann's house - no-one seems to know the purpose. It only goes back a little way, beneath the end of the greenhouse, then it stops. It appears to start going up (staircase?), but that end is blocked by rocks and fill. No-one seems to know where the other end came out. You can still get inside it, but it's pretty wet in there - several inches of water on the floor.

The building that you thought might have been a guard house - at the entrance to the Scharitzkehlalm - has been described as a cooling house for the milk collected from Bormann's cows that were pastured in the Scharitzkehlalm. I don't know for sure ... the inside has been modernized, and it is used today to store small tractors and agricultural or road repair equipment.
