Just got back from a holiday in France. The wife "allowed" me to visit the Saumur tank museum (twice in fact in 2 weeks!!!). I hope the following photos will be of interest. There are quite a few so go and get a coffee whilst I load all that. I would strongly recommend the trip there if you can.
On the Sunday morning I got there, they organized a live demonstration of a few of their tanks like a Sherman, a half track, an M10 Tank Destroyer, you know the usual stuff made in the US and used by the French for a number of years post war.....and then what did they bring out????.....the noise was unbelievable...the roar of that engine....the smoke....the speed as it came towards us...........yep a Tiger 2 in perfect working order! (and the kid at the top is a school kid on some kind of work experience for the summer....lucky bugger!)
