As you can see the area surrounding the bunker makes it's very difficult to get up close without being spotted.

      On to Wormhout now.

Some of the soliders killed during the battle and immediately after were buried in community cemetery.

In one of the survivors of the battle account, the fate of Private Gould is described.

Having been earlier wounded by a friendly fire incident he was subsequently killed after the British had surrendered.

On to the location of the barn. What happened here is well known.

          The replica of the barn

This is the military cemetery at Esquelbecq where the majority of the soliders killed in the barn are buried.

The final evacuation beach I got to was Malo St Bains. Good for flying a kite or evacuating your army.

Slightly off topic, the next series of photo's are of the V2 Rocket launching site called La Coupole in Helfaut that I stopped off at on the way home.

I didn't think much of the museum there and I found the outside more interesting than the inside!

Very interesting, and thanks for posting these. A reminder of the crimes of the Totenkopf and Leibstandarte and of what was being fought for 68 years today.

Much appreciated by one who will never be able to visit Europe in person again.
