Being mostly Norse by blood, these bits are of interest. Some were used by Norway, 4 escaped to England, 1 to Finland.

Most German Seaplanes were Diesel, but not sure about 115.
If Operation Ikarus had been taken more seriously & attempted, the Icelandic fishing fleet fuel would've been handy. 1000 coastal vessels, 22 ocean going, ran on diesel.

There is a great difference between shaving, and to cut your head of;-) I dont speak of 2not recovering the plane Paddywhack, I speak of recover the plane and preserve/conservate it as found so it will have a historical value with a 100 % historical substance, not something containing up to 60/70% new materia (read; soulless!). We dont restore recovered wiking swords to what they looked like the day it where made do we?

well viking swords arent like a ultra rare ww2 plane plus theres many many more viking swords then he115s!im actualy in two minds about what they should do!i have seen unrestored recovered planes and how they look and restored recovered planes and both can look good!i do feel that as the only recovered he115 that is in the public eye that it needs to be a complete example AND the parts they are going to use are original he115 parts!but i guess we will just have to see what they do with it!
