    Visit to the WWII Museum in New Orleans

    I was in New Orleans for the large CTIA mobile phone trade show this week. The city leaves much to be desired... I don't understand shops that open after 10am and are closed by 5pm. Do they expect to sell anything?

    On Royal Street there are some antique shops that have some militaria but the prices are a bit steep. James H. Cohen & Sons is probably the exception. Open fairly early, closes a bit later... fantastic 18th and 19th century firearms, as well as old coins, maps, weapons from India and Africa. That was very impressive.

    And of course I visited the National WWII Museum, formerly the National D-Day Museum. While the collection is NOT huge, what is impressive is that many of the items are linked to the veteran directly. So it makes for a very personal story.
