    What an Honor.

Good day to all;I have been given the honor of being my Dad's Honor Guardian on his Honor Flight Historic Triangle Va trip to DC to the WW2 Memorial on 4-28 12.I have a class on 4-12-12 that will teach me how to be a Guardian. The trip will be all day and they putting out the red carpet for the Vets.At the end of the trip they have what is called a "mail call"where my dad will get cards ,letters etc. thanking him for his service etc. Here is his address if anyone would like to send a card or whatever to him for his service in the Pacific in WW2.I wish y'all knew my Dad as he is one of the best men on the planet and is well loved and liked by many for the many kind and good things he has done for many people in his life.I could go on and on but my dad is a humble man and that's the way he will be untill it is his time.On his 90th birthday last year I needed a few items to make a WW2 theme for his party and I got all the help I needed and then some from the great forum members here........he will never forget it.

Great to see that your beloved dad is still in good health to be able to make the trip.

I bet it will be a very tempting journey for both of you - have fun.

And don´t forget to post some more pictures here of the whole event.

Congats, Dennis . . . being selected to participate in an Honor Flight can be difficult - and especially one with a Family member along! I made a flight once myself, and it is an experience you will NEVER forget - enjoy! I will send my letter this weekend . . .

Nothing more to say than . . . AWESOME!

            Dennis,

Thanks for sharing. That is an honor.

What can you tell about the fish cook off (I'm sure that isn't the correct term). I've never seen such a thing and am interested.

Well tomorrow at 6:30 am my Dad and I start the Honor Flight to DC.I am really looking forward to it.I have had 4 vets ask my dad to have me come over to their house next week to look at the items they brought back from the war and tell them what they are worth.I will do this free of charge and if they want to sell them I will get them market price for their iteams. However that is last thing on my mind.I am just looking forward to having a great day with my dad while I still can.
Thanks to all the members for their letters and poems they are greatly appreciated.
