new WW2 movie - Saints and soldiers

The new Saints and soldiers website is now up and it is very cool.
This is the film that used lots of reenactors from all over the
country and looks to be very good success.

      Movie

Indeed, it's a good movie, though only few people know it.

Just visited the website, and that's quite good too as a matter of fact, nice and original concept!

      Kind regards
      Geert

It says the 4 main characters escaped the Malmedy shooting. Does anybody knows what kind of story this movie tells us about this incident?
Just want to know if this is a one-sided story or a 2 sided one.

          film

I haven't seen it or the trailer, but if it comes from Hollywood, you can bet it's one-sided! I hope I'm proven wrong!

The movie is 1 sided, but at a moment, it get's VERY 2-sided qua friendship between an American guy and a German guy, etc.

                    Thanks

Thank's for the 4-1-1 on this movie. I ill be waiting to see when it come's out. Hope it is at least done with some good attention to detail as far as uniforms, equipment and hair styles etc. I'm sure that the German's will be portrayed as ignornant boob's who run head long into machinegun fire like in "Where Eagle's Dare."

                      Armed medics??

Hmm,looks interesting, but should that GI medic really be holding an M1 garrand? Or is this similiar to something thats happened here in the UK,A re issue of A Bridge Too Far has been brought out but the cover image has been doctored. The origional image should show the british officer waving his umberela in the air(you know the one"but you'l let us try sir?) instead for some reason he's now holding an M1 aswell, not even a lee enfeild!

                      k,

ps any spelling mistakes are a yorkshire dialect, honest

Wait a minute. How could you have seen the movie, if it doesn't come out until the 6th of August? Today being the 20th of July? Just wondering...

                          .....

The movie is being released to "big screens" on August 6, but has been shown at numerous film festivals and if I am not mistaken, "altered" a bit too.

The creators of the film contacted a lot of reenactors and from my understanding employed them in a lot of the battle scenes and took good care of them. One tale I heard was that after the filming, the units were allowed to "battle" away at the location with the extra blanks and goodies.

Every show these days is a little one sided...I'm just glad that another movie is coming out about WW2!

The concept is not original. The same concept was used on the Web before:
                            1. Russian Site
                            2. American Site

BTW, after watching the trailers, I wouldn't expect this movie to be really spectacular.

You can hire it in Belgium in "hire a movie" shops.
