I bet they have no idea what it is all about, war heroes, graves, etc. It's the christian crosses that have attracted the attention.
But these are not the ones to blame! Uneducated, brainwashed, primitive, fanatics. Their behavior is highly predictable and this is not the first situation of the kind. The stupid a-hole who disposed the books is responsible for the trouble! What else can be expected, when doing such things with the most sacred thing of these fanatics? Even non-fanatic people, believers, would be very pissed with the act. I believe the same act caused the murder of four members of the French Legion! So, the stupid deed cost human lives, too!
I have some stronger words for that rocket scientist, but I'll stick to "stupid". One great stupidity is doing this to the holly books of the fanatics and then throwing the remains in the hands of the fanatics. On another level, the books were burned because were used by fanatics in the prison, including for exchanging secret messages. This system - writing-capture-throwaway - can be easily used for providing messages from the prison inmates to someone outside. That would be faster than regular mail! What was done by US forces was sloppy. Prisoners were using them for coded messages, so had to be taken out of circulation. Only mistakes were:
* Not completely burning them to cinders

Agree, what can you expect from countrys still living in the 8th century. One of leaders most effective ways to deter criticism of ones own (or Country) situation is to inflame hatred (on others) by the use of religion.
Keeping the masses focused on the hatred for the US/Allies and Israel helps reduce the natural tension of their own sad situations.
Many rejoiced at the Arab "Spring", seeing it as a change for the better. Am not so sure this will be the case, as those that replace the ousted leaders may turn out to be far worse.....

Its sad when we are so afraid to burn these muslim jackass's unholy koran. Let these retards know were not scared of them and burn all the books and when they start there cry baby riots of "we want our way or else we jihad or something like that" then bomb and destroy them. I thought we were at war. Thats the way the god of the bible has war: Destroy your enemy completely and then celebrate peace and victory. All they have to do is pass laws that make it a mandatory jail sentence for desecrating any and all military graveyards graves and grave sites internationally, and then set up surveillance systems as in england, like are everywhere there, and then catch them in the act, and make them spend their jail time scrubbing off graffeiti for a few years all over in shackles. We have the technology, then put a microchip for life in them , and make the second offense life in prison at hard labor with no parole.
That is all that it will take to solve the problem, as over here they can now brand anybody a terrorist by homeland security laws, and imprison you with no trial or right to an attorney.
They also could be used after a second conviction to maintain graveyards, and even reinterr the dead when it is requested by the deads family , like when they are moved to be buried in another country or back home at arlington. Its amazing how the prospect of a prison sentence with hard labor changes disrespectful people into ones that think about it before doing such crimes in the future. Oh and also post a warning in all languages around the cemeterys as a warning so nobody has any excuse to claim ignorance.
They could also patrol the graves at night with attack drones and shoot to kill , anybody on the property after dark, by making it illegal to be on the property after the sun goes down. I like my first suggestion the best, to kill them is too easy on them.
