Festung Thorn. Part III: Fort VIII "Herzog Albrecht"

Hello,

Today I want to show you a third (and last for now) part of my fortress trip in Thorn (Toruń).

Here are pics from Fort VIII that was a intermediary fort (6 guns, few machineguns and 300 crewman).

It is the most abandonned fort I've seen in Thorn, and... it have HUGE (and almoust totally available!) undergrounds! There's dark and a little bit creepy anyway

In Part II I've mentioned about shoting polish citizens by Gestapo in Fort VII.
Here is another place of executions: big holes in a forest between Fort VII and VIII. There is so quietly now......

2. Infantry shelter near Fort VIII.

3. And now we are at the Fort VIII itself.
Flooded moat. My favourite view. To get to the Fort from the direction of Fort VII you must climb at the external "bank" and suddenly you see this.... breathtaking, belive me.

7. And up to the middle of Fort

8. After entering in one of "buildings" we see a way down... ready to start an underground trip?

9. There is dark as hell !! I can't see even my nose... We have one flashlight, but it have very weak and only spoting light... Only a milisecond light of a flashlamp of my camera - while I'm taking photos of this darkness - gives us an idea what is ahead...

11. And waht we got here - an electrical distributor in good codition!

12. This hole was for use an ammo feeder I think. At the lower level should be a stockroom.

13. After going downstairs - there is a stockroom, as I thought!

14. Another descent to lower levels.... it will be 3rd underground level.
