    I was spoiled in Atlanta

Atlanta just recently hosted a great public event that permitted me to "act" as the overall German commander. Two highlights to the event for me were the presence of a fully operational Flak 88 gun manned by a Kriegsmarine crew on one day and a Luftwaffe crew on the next. But, even more exciting for me was the opportunity to be chauffered around in a 1938 Mercedes Benz Staff Car. This car was owned by a fellow in Atlanta that came across a flyer for the event and called and offered the usage of his car. Supposedly, there are only 3 of these cars in existence. So needless to say, it was hard to wipe the grin off of my face.

Also, for those with high speed connections, turn up your volume and hit the Home page to my website. There you will here some neat German propoganda music (in English) as part of the page. Here's a link to it: http://www.angelfire.com/tn3/luftwaffefeld/index.html

Here's a shot of the front. My "aide" is actually the mechanic that does all of the work on the car. He and the owner brought it to the event for everyone to see. Luckily he brought the mechanic. It wouldn't start!

I thought it was really hot!!!! I had to keep both my bikes moving to keep the fuel from vapor locking the carbs, but the Tanks were the main reason we traveled so far, 5 tanks in a very close area.

Do they fire any blanks out of those 88's?

Yeah, the gun is a live fire 88. They make their own rounds. For your info, the 88 is owned by a company out of Texas that rents their toys out for play.

Great pictures. Were there any closer pictures of the Hetzers?
