            Quite possible but it could have also been to send back to his family. Surely they would have known where his family was, or at least the town.

                Is that not the surrender of estonian SS-officer Paul Maitla and his adjutant, who were later handed over to the partisans who had them executed on the 10.5.45? Or am I mixing it up with some other pictures?

                      The profile of the guy in 1.47-1.52 surely does look like Maitla, but it's really hard to tell from this angle. Didn't Maitla wear Estonian shield on his left arm? And was he captured by yanks at all?
