    So????

Spectra, great images. Must have been a very moving experience to have visited such a historic place. Thank you for posting.

"Another case of cynical, blatant racism by the Allies. "

Well then, don't go to war with most of Europe, engage in genocide, attack England, Russia and declare war on the United States for good measure. Too bad, but when you mess with the collective bulls; you will get the collective horns, in spades. And if 250,000 Germans lost everything after the war, including their lives; so what? I'm sure that those who lived under their foot of terror and horror were really upset when they heard this news. Spare me.

Charles, we're talking about people, mostly women and children, who had been living in this part of Europe for 700 years. To imply that they deserved this sort of treatment merely exposes you for the racist you are.

        Racist

Well my last name is Betz, origins from Bad Rapenau. So how does that make me a racist?

'If 250,000 Germans lost their lives, so what?'. Pretty racist statement, where I come from. And the fact that you are descended from Germans is neither here nor there, obviously, since you seem to suffer from the same sort of Germanophobia as that other great German-American leader, Eisenhower (or, more correctly, Eisenhauer).

            Germanophobia

I believe Vince that you are suffering from an acute case of revisionism. Do try and get help.

It's better than what you're suffering from, Karl, old chum.

This comment was unnecessary. Anyone be they Czech or German who lost everything or their life is a tragedy!!

yes, crypt seems to have been 'pimped up' since my visit ten years ago. then the crypt was a simple memorial in itself, minus the bronze busts, which here look beautifully executed. a shrine to czec resistance, its no wonder german settlers there were hated after the war, property seized, lives lost. under the jackboot that country was humiliated and pressed into slavery. aryan opportunists-'colonialists'- understandably found few sympathetic to their claims to property and liberty after may 45. a different story that would be today, of course.
