Like said, you have been in the right area, the correct locations are also (partial) visible on your fotos:

    - the 2 M8 scoutcars (blue area)

    - the "attack over the road" (pink area)

Arrows show the direction the fotos were taken

The locations at your fotos (green is the pole):

Blue: the 2 M8 "Greyhounds" aiming south-east (app. direction to the hut), foto taken looking south-west

Pink: the "attack over the road", foto taken looking north

BTW; the correct pole was just behind your back, when you took that foto...

The film taken at Poteau of Hansens battlegroup is fantastic and contains some great footage.. I last visited there in 1992 and looking at the present pictures nothing has changed.
Seeing these pictures has made me want to go back

I drove past again today today but only had my cellphone camera, so apologies for the quality. So, I was wrong, that pine tree and cabin are still OK, but a large stand of trees between the pine tree/cabin have been cut. Also the Poteau museum have sold off one of their buildings, as well as all the outside exhibits?

                        Hi Florian,

I guess its not clear in my pictures from yesterday, the hut is still there under the large pine tree in the middle of my second picture.

                        For other interested parties:
I can get to the area quite quickly as I live near Losheimergraben, so if anyone wants specific pictures (or a guided tour) let me know!
